Food was good, service was friendly, but it took almost an hour to serve the three of us and there were only 30-40 people in the entire establishment.

This was their Saturday night steak night, and they were breaking in a new order system, but still... no excuse to be so poorly managed and inefficient.
Great food. Hamburgers are great. Be sure to ask for fried onions for your hamburger and barbecue sauce. On Saturday nights they feature steaks. This is a place where REAL cowboys go for food and refreshments. Ranch trucks loaded with saddles and cattle dogs will be parked out front. The place is nothing fancy but it is representative of real life in the Flint Hills of Kansas. Be sure to drive straight East of the Saloon on a gravel road to the Caney Breaks. It is a plateau where the land slopes east toward the Caney river basin. Also, go straight West a few miles to see one of the longest stone fences in Kansas along a black top road.
This was supposed to be a nice dinner for my son and his girlfriend to top of the end of a wonderful day... For the first time ever, my 16 year old son was frustrated to a point he was ready to pay for the drinks and leave.
